Oyova-Designed Website Included in United States Library of Congress

Klauder4Congress.com, an Oyova-developed campaign website is set to be included in the United States Library of Congress. The campaign website, which serves Jim Klauder and his run for the U.S. House of Representatives 4th Congressional District, was selected as a part of new web archiving program from the Library of Congress.

The Library of Congress’s traditional functions of acquiring, cataloging, preserving, and serving collection materials of historical importance to the Congress and the American people to foster education and scholarship, now extend to digital materials, including websites. The Library of Congress believes that with the growing role of the web as an influential medium, records of historical events could be considered incomplete without materials that were digital only and never printed on paper. They feel web archives are important because they preserve historical and cultural information that could otherwise be lost.

Currently, The Library of Congress is collaborating with other libraries and governmental institutions to build a comprehensive archive of Election 2012 websites and plans to share the archived site with its partners.
