Objectives
Suddath sought to enhance its digital presence and improve its website’s overall performance to better serve its global customer base. As a leading provider of moving and logistics services, Suddath’s website plays a critical role in driving leads, improving customer engagement, and offering essential information about their extensive services. - Improving Page Speed: Suddath’s previous Headless React setup limited their ability to achieve optimal page speed. They aimed to achieve an “A” rating and at least 90% performance in speed.
- Enhancing Ease of Use: The old setup did not allow previewing posts/pages in drafts, which hindered content management efficiency. They needed a solution that would streamline content previews.
- Simplifying Deployment: Previously, deploying code changes involved a lengthy process. They required a more efficient system to deploy changes quickly and effortlessly.
Challenges Faced
Suddath’s website was underperforming due to outdated technology, slow page speed, and a complex content management system that made content previews and deployments cumbersome.
Solution
Oyova addressed Suddath’s challenges by removing the React portion of their website and transitioning the front end to WordPress. This shift improved performance and provided a more user-friendly content management system. Key components of the solution included:
- WordPress with Tailwind CSS: We retained the same design but used the modern Tailwind CSS framework to speed up development and reduce the size of the CSS bundle, leading to faster load times.
- Previewing Drafts: The new system allowed Suddath’s team to easily preview posts and pages before publishing, streamlining their content management workflow.
- Efficient Deployments: With GitHub Actions integrated into the development process, code changes could now be deployed almost instantaneously, significantly reducing the time and effort required for updates.
- HubSpot Integration via Gravity Forms: Custom Gravity Forms were implemented to capture and track lead data, with hidden fields providing additional insights to Suddath for improved customer management.
Development Process
We created a custom WordPress theme using Genesis Blocks for Gutenberg components and Tailwind CSS for streamlined, responsive styling. Custom integration with Rize Reviews also allowed Suddath to display customer reviews directly on their website. Deployment processes were automated using GitHub Actions to ensure quick and efficient code updates.
